Practice Management
Participants will develop an understanding of the WHY behind incorporating medical billing into the practice for both TMD and other dental procedures. This pre-recorded course will discuss the ROI and value medical billing can bring along with increasing patient case acceptance. If the practice has tried medical billing previously and failed, this program will offer the steps to making it work. Whether a specialty or general practice, shifting the practice’s and team’s mindset from just being a “dentist” to that of a “medical specialist” can improve the overall care for the patient and provide profitability and growth for the practice and team.
The educational teaching methodology used in this course is a self-study lecture presented via pre-recorded webinar in concert with an accompanying PowerPoint presentation. Both the pre-recorded webinar and the PowerPoint presentation incorporate a variety of audio and visual cues to enhance audience members’ understanding and retention of key concepts.
Course Objectives
At the completion of this course the participants should be able to:
- Identify dental procedures that can be billed to medical insurers for TMD and other treatments
- Recognize differences between dental and medical insurance
- Describe ways medical insurance can increase patient case acceptance while decreasing insurance write-offs
- Recognize ways dental team members can inform patients about medical billing
