On demand courses
The Geriatric Patient and the Aging Dentist
This course is designed for the dental practitioner, the dental team: dental hygienists, and assistants and any other ancillary dental personnel, to educate them on the factors that affect extending their lives and general health, as well as that of their patients, especially their older patients.
Special Needs Dentistry
This course will discuss the developmental disabilities of special needs patients with respect to being dental patients, and, what to look for in the dental office regarding their care process and how to be aware of the issues that affect these “special people” with special needs.
Geriatric Dentistry: Treating the Older Adult Patient
The goal of this self-study on-demand course is to encompass the changes upon us in patient care, caring, assessment, treatment planning and possible treatment modalities available. Our older population will be maintaining their teeth longer and will have more discretionary income to spend on staying healthy. Discussion will cover mature patient needs, changes accompanying aging, homecare, and the effects of prescription drugs on oral health.
