Biography
Ken Tilashalski, DMD (“Dr. T”) is distinguished by his dual specialty certifications in oral and maxillofacial pathology and endodontics. Honored to serve as the Dean of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry, Dr. T has dedicated his career to advancing dental education and patient care. After earning his D.M.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Tilashalski pursued residencies in both specialties and completed an American Cancer Society fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry.
Throughout his career, Dr. T has held numerous leadership positions, including clinic director, department chair, postgraduate program director, associate dean for academic affairs, executive associate dean, and now dean. His passion for dental education has made him a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences, where he shares his expertise in oral pathology, oral medicine, and infection control. Known for his engaging and interactive teaching style, Dr. T was honored with the UAB President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Dr. T’s contributions to dentistry extend beyond the classroom. He is a fellow of both the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. His achievements have been recognized with the University of Alabama School of Dentistry Alumni Association Endowed Professorship and the prestigious “Most Excellent Fellow” designation from the Alabama Dental Association.
