Course Description

Geriatric Dentistry, Special Patient Care

The goal of this live webinar is to encompass the changes upon us in patient care, caring, assessment, treatment planning and possible treatment modalities available. Someone turns 50 years old every 7 seconds! 30% of our population will be above the age of 65 years by 2030. Our older population will be maintaining their teeth longer and will have more discretionary income to spend on staying healthy and looking better. Our more mature population will be living longer; therefore, you will have more patients to treat of this genre! This is why it is important to understand the changes upon us that the aging process brings to us as practitioners. Discussion will cover mature patient needs, changes accompanying aging, homecare, and the effects of prescription drugs on oral health. The material being presented is designed for the General Dental Practitioner and ancillary staff.

“The educational teaching methodology used in this course is live, interactive lecture presented via Zoom webinar with an accompanying PowerPoint presentation. Both the live webinar and the PowerPoint presentation incorporate a variety of audio and visual cues to enhance audience members’ understanding and retention of key concepts. In addition, question and answer periods are provided for at the conclusion of each section of the live webinar.”
