Course Description
Pediatric Dentistry
The contemporary management of tooth structure lost from dental caries in pediatric patients ranges from nonsurgical medical management to minimally invasive techniques to traditional restorative techniques such as fillings and prefabricated crowns. There are a variety of prefabricated crowns for pediatric patients that can be used, such as stainless steel crowns, composite strip crowns, pre-veneered esthetic crowns, zirconia crowns, and medical-grade resin crowns. The choice to use each material and technique depends on caries risk, medical status and parental preference.
The educational teaching methodology used in this course is live, interactive lecture presented via Zoom webinar with an accompanying PowerPoint presentation. Both the live webinar and the PowerPoint presentation incorporate a variety of audio and visual cues to enhance audience members’ understanding and retention of key concepts. In addition, question and answer periods are provided for at the conclusion of each section of the live webinar.
