DENTAL HYGIENISTS (RDH) - The period for completing continuing education requirements extends for a 2-year period from January 1 through December 31 of the following year

How Much Continuing Education Do I Need?

DENTISTS (DDS, DMD) - A licensee seeking renewal shall complete not less than 30 full hours of continuing education
DENTAL HYGIENISTS (RDH) - A licensee seeking renewal shall complete not less than 30 full hours of continuing education.
ASSISTANTS (RDA, CDA, EFDA) - N/A

What, if Any, Are The Mandatory Subjects?

DENTISTS (DDS, DMD) - "A licensee shall maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification 2 hours of infection control for each renewal cycle 2-hour Board-approved course on the Proper Prescribing and Disposal of Prescription Drugs. Must be completed by dentists every other renewal cycle 2-hour Board-approved course on Abuse and Neglect as it Relates to Maryland Law. Must be completed by dentists and dental hygienists every other renewal cycle. The course must contain a Maryland law component"

Is There a Limit to The Number of Online Classes

Dentists and Dental Hygienists may earn up to 17-hours for self-study activities per renewal cycle. Webinars that are “designed to enhance the licensee’s clinical knowledge and ability to treat dental patients” are acceptable.
