Course Description

Periodontics

Signs and Symptoms of Periodontitis for Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy (NSPT)
Effective nonsurgical periodontal therapy is based on an accurate combination of periodontal disease assessment and treatment. This course is designed for dentists and dental hygienists and will incorporate critically appraised, evidence-based information including the assessment phase of care and instrument options.

Review of Advanced Instrumentation forNon-Surgical Periodontal Therapy (NSPT)
Positive outcomes from NSPT increase when deposit removal is effective. We will look at advanced instrumentation while considering instrument selection, avoiding burnishing deposit, and normal anatomical considerations. Emphasis will be placed on reviewing different types of advanced instruments for safe and effective calculus removal during patient care.

From Research to Practice: Evidence-Based Updates in Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy (NSPT)
This evidence-based course will provide current information on various procedures and products currently being suggested as adjuncts to NSPT. The research provides a foundation for selecting the most effective treatment adjuncts resulting in the best possible patient care outcomes.
