Course Description

Practice Management

Burnout is a widespread problem that affects healthcare workers’ ability to provide optimal patient care. Furthermore, it poses a threat to the health care worker’s emotional and physical health.

In this course we will address burnout from a perspective that takes into the consideration not only the individual, but also their work, family and socio-cultural environments. This course integrates research including Cochrane Review findings and clinical mental health practice and encompasses prevention, early recognition and reversal, and recovery from burnout.

This course takes a pragmatic approach and you will be equipped and empowered to promote your resilience and wellbeing – and identify action points for change if they are indicated. You will also receive a tool kit comprised of tips, techniques and strategies to proactively promote your mental health in an ongoing way and increase your resilience in the face of job stress.

“The educational teaching methodology used in this course is live, interactive lecture presented via Zoom webinar with an accompanying PowerPoint presentation. Both the live webinar and the PowerPoint presentation incorporate a variety of audio and visual cues to enhance audience members’ understanding and retention of key concepts. In addition, question and answer periods are provided for at the conclusion of each section of the live webinar.”
