Geriatric Dentistry, Special Patient Care
This Webinar will discuss the developmental disabilities of special needs patients with respect to being dental patients, and, what to look for in the dental office regarding their care process and how to be aware of the issues that affect these “special people” with special needs. What we need to do to our offices to accommodate people with special needs and how we should communicate with them and their families and caregivers, as well as our staff.
“The educational teaching methodology used in this course is live, interactive lecture presented via Zoom webinar with an accompanying PowerPoint presentation. Both the live webinar and the PowerPoint presentation incorporate a variety of audio and visual cues to enhance audience members’ understanding and retention of key concepts. In addition, question and answer periods are provided for at the conclusion of each section of the live webinar.”
Course Objectives
At the completion of this course the participants should be able to:
- Learn what to expect in treating the older individual who may be medically compromised.
- Learn how to know your limits in treating medically compromised and special needs individuals and how to prepare your office and practice for this genre of patient. from the rigors of aging.
- Learn about yourself and how you can improve the quality of your patients’ life as well as your own.
- Learn about minimally invasive dentistry with respect to the older dental patient and the “special needs” individual.
